Storm warning

This sky looks to be carrying a bit of muscle as a real bruiser of a storm approaches across the fen and trailing in its wake is a torrential rainstorm with hail. Perfect late spring weather then.
The potatoes and all the other crops will be happy to see the rain and no doubt the ground will soak up the coming downpour like a piece of blotting paper, then an hour later you won't even know that it had rained.
Just after taking the photograph the first gigantic drops of rain arrived, raindrops that were the size of large marbles and they struck hard enough to sting, a dozen or so drops like that and you were soaked to the skin.
We decided, quite sensibly, it was best to watch the squall through the windows and enjoy a cup of afternoon tea.
